Welcome to the home of South Featherston School, a semi-rural primary school on a mission to ensure 'every learner leaves our school with a passion for learning and a kete of strategies to use in every area of life.'

Our Whakapapa
In the fertile valley of the Wairarapa, east of the Remutaka Ranges, west of the Tauherenikau river and just north of Moana Wairarapa, sits the rural community of South Featherston - and our school, where a classroom has existed since 1898.
It's a setting that has always connected our learners deeply to the natural world and that tie remains today, reflected in a strong environmental focus in our curriculum - whether learners come from local farming families and whānau, or from the nearby town of Featherston... and even beyond!
